Unspoilt and undisturbed, Cuba is a truly unique island with a captivating charm. Closely linked with its history, a Cuba holiday is the ideal place to combine a beach break with a dip into local culture.

From the bustling yet laid back city of Havana to the idyllic, coasts of the Cayo’s, Cuba holidays provide you with the perfect destination to relax, unwind and enjoy a taste of something new. Dive the warm turquoise waters or take a lesson in salsa and let the sound of hypnotic Latin American beats float over you. With so much to take in, you’ll never want to leave.

Holidays in Cuba – Sun, Sea and Salsa

The largest island in the Caribbean Sea, Cuba’s warm climate, year round sunshine, clear waters and dazzling white sands have made holidays to Cuba increasingly popular. Famous for many things, including cigars, rum and salsa, Cuba is rich in history. You’ll be hard pressed to fit it all in, but make sure you take time out from the beach to explore the colourful past as well as the colourful countryside.

Cuevas da Bellamar

The Bellamar Caves were only discovered 150 years ago but have since become one of Cuba’s top attractions. And it’s no surprise why. Hidden underground, away from the tropical sun, a magical world exists. Mesmerizing crystalline domes and formations come in an astonishing range of shapes and sizes, whilst stalagmites and stalactites can be found within. Amongst their beauty you’ll discover mural paintings, fossils and evidence of indigenous communities that inhabited the area 1,600 years ago.

Havana

Cuba’s vibrant capital city is the largest city in the Caribbean. A city of many parts, each with its own identity, there is so much to see and do. Cobbled streets and leafy squares await you with plenty of historic treasures to amaze you.

Visit the rum and cigar factories and wander the streets of the UNESCO preserved Old Havana and explore its network of colonial palaces, baroque churches and fortresses. When the sun sets, the lights brighten and music floats through the streets. The hypnotic Latin American beats will have you learning the salsa, Havana style.

Cuban Music

Taking its influence from the country’s Afro-Cuban roots, Cuban music is original, innovative and typical all at once. Dance to live salsa or kick back and enjoy some Cuban jazz. Seeing a live Cuban music performance of any kind is definitely a highly-recommended entry for any holiday to Cuba. There is also plenty of opportunity to learn the energetic dance form with origins from Cuba as salsa classes are available in all major resorts. If you’re feeling adventurous however, head down to one of the many salsa clubs and dance the night away to the Latin beats.
