On land, colourful souvenir stalls and beach bars line the coast, where you can sip coconut milk from the shells as you watch the waves lap the sandy shore. Rich in culture, with a continental ambience, Sosua is a great place to base your Dominican Republic holiday. With water parks, museums and a picturesque beach, it’s an all round holiday destination.       

 

Playa Dorada – A gated resort, Playa Dorada has everything a sun worshipper could dream of. Framed by lush greenery and the stunning Mount Isabela, 2km of powdery sands borders this all inclusive destination. There is plenty of choice for dining, drinking and dancing and activities are plentiful. An 18-hole golf course, a go kart circuit and superb marine life. Everything you need is within the walled resort. But if the exploring bug bites, Puerto Plata’s just outside the gates are a short distance away, offering rich culture and sightseeing galore. 

 

Bavaro – A fairly quiet resort, ideal for family vacations, Bavaro is situated on the east coast with a gorgeous shelving white sandy beach. There are plenty of water sports to keep you entertained but a holiday to Bavaro is ideally suited to those looking to sit back, relax and unwind. Lined with tall palms, the beaches seem to go on forever.
