Holidays in Malta – beautiful landscapes and rich in culture

This laidback sunshine destination has plenty to offer including the Valletta water front, the Mosta Dome and the bustling markets.

Valletta Waterfront

Brightly coloured fishing boats populate the charming harbour of Valletta, the capital of Malta. You will not be short of restaurants and cafes to sample gorgeous Maltese food or a coffee and delicious cakes. This has fast become the trendy place to be in the evenings thanks to the atmosphere and entertainment on offer including the Malta Jazz Festival and wine fairs. Valletta has won international awards due to the conservation of its architectural heritage, making it popular with travellers on their Malta holidays.

The Mosta Dome

The Church of St. Mary was built between the 1830’s and the 1860’s and has Roman influences. The Mosta Dome at St. Mary is the 3rd largest unsupported dome in Europe and measures 40m in internal diameter. The interior of the church does not disappoint with its lavish decorations and trimmed gold-leaf. The church was originally built around an existing church which could not be demolished until the new one was complete.

Markets at their best

If you are a bargain hunter, you will love the Maltese weekly markets where lace, jewellery, woollen jumpers and glassware can all be purchased. Soak up the atmosphere and enjoy watching the artisans at work. The glass blowers will amaze you with their ancient method of glass blowing by hand and mouth. A must see on your Malta holiday!
