Based on the top of the peninsula is a wonderful lighthouse, which was built from the cliffs in 1892 and encircled by lush foliage. This is also the location of the famous Formentor Hotel, a hotspot for the rich and famous since it was opened in 1929, whose beautiful beach is now open to the public.
