Side is a wonderful destination located close to Manavgat on the Southern coast of Turkey and is an ancient harbour whose name meant pomegranate in the Anatolian language. Side is one of the most famous classical sites in Turkey and is one of the Turkish Mediterranean's most striking holiday resorts.

Side is well known for its long, sandy beaches, which border the old city on each side of the town and the ancient ruins. Accommodation is plentiful with something to suit every budget in this classic Turkish seaside village. The resort is surrounded by spectacular archaeological sites, including the Temple of Apollo and a well preserved Roman amphitheatre.
Wonderful Beaches
The Side beach in Antalya consists of two kilometres of unspoilt beaches with glorious white sands. The two main beaches are very close by but have different characteristics, particularly the west beach which has calm, shallow waters. Both beaches offer a wide range of water sports such as parasailing, waterskiing and diving and feature Greek and Roman ruins and charming waterfront cafes.
Amazing Ruins
On a side Holiday you will be astonished by historical sites, including the main gate of the city and the two main streets in Side, which are classic examples of ancient columned streets. The Temple of Apollo in Side is absolutely spectacular and dates back from the 2nd Century AD. The Side Theatre is exceptionally well preserved, is the largest of its kind in Pamphylia and has a capacity for around 20,000 spectators. The Side museum is also definitely worth a visit to see the restored roman baths, as well as other ancient artefacts discovered in the region.

There are many restaurants and cafes offering a wide variety of cuisine with stunning sea views and a laid back atmosphere. Seafood is the specialty of Side and you can enjoy Turkish dishes, as well as international fare. Side has numerous bars, discos and nightclubs including the open air Lighthouse Club and the Moroccan style Oxyd Disco, where you can dance the night away in style.
