Overview
If you want complete freedom to explore the West Coast, our Fly Drive option is perfect.
With up to 21 nights on the road you can explore the contrasts of Las Vegas to states such as
California, Utah and Arizona. Take a drive out on the open road and experience the awesome
Grand Canyon or the huge Hoover Dam. Independent travellers choosing Fly Drive can still
benefit from the services of our Resort Manager, and will be able to purchase any excursions
that we offer.

What’s included?
- An automatic, air-conditioned vehicle with an AM/FM radio, power brakes, power steering and automatic transmission. (Thomas Cook reserves the right to substitute alternative makes of car and/or car rental company)
- A vehicle with no rental car markings for enhanced safety
- Unlimited mileage within the USA. No fees are charged for driving out of state
- Area map and driving booklet
- Third party liability coverage to $1 million
and what’s not...
- State environment surcharge ($2.05 per car per day)
- Airport Handling Fee and Airport Operating Fee ($6.00 per car per day). The Airport Operating Fee also requires payment of an additional 10% on all options purchased
- Vehicle License fee of 3.5% and Rental Tax of 6% applicable to West Coast USA.
- State Sales Tax of 6-7% on other taxable items of rental (excluding LDW)
- UMP - Underinsured Motorist Protection ($6.99 per car per day). This provides up to $1,000,000 cover for bodily injury sustained whilst driving the rental car caused by an underinsured/uninsured driver
- Optional LDW - Loss Damage Waiver ($20.99 per car per day). This covers all rental vehicle damage, regardless of fault. NB: without LDW cover, Dollar will require you to produce a credit card with at least $1,500 available credit. Thomas Cook strongly recommends pre-purchasing one of its insurance packages or taking this
- Fuel (approx $2.90 per gallon when purchased from a local gas station. Price subject to constant change)
- Additional driver charge (from $9.99 per driver per day plus taxes and fees). Not applicable to West Coast USA
- Under 25 years of age driver surcharge for drivers aged 21 to 24 inclusive (from $25 per driver per day)
- Child seats – a legal requirement for under 5’s (from $9 per seat per day plus taxes and fees)
- Toll charges (best keep loose change handy)
- Parking, hotel car parking charges and traffic fines "
