Places to Go

Bodrum
It may be an island that belongs to Greece, but the shores of Kos are within easy boating distance of Bodrum, a vibrant town on the Turkish coastline. Immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of this phenomenal town. Stroll the castle that dominates the harbour, or pop by the bazaar to put your haggling skills to the test - the possibilities are endless.
Kos Town
As the capital of the island, you can imagine the treats in store. Take a stroll around the maze of streets admiring the architecture and culture that surrounds you as you go. Head for Kos harbour or take the kids on an adventure exploring the 15th century Knights Castle, where they will be in their element pretending to be medieval knights trying to save their damsels in distress - or fighting the dragons, of course! The Roman baths are also well worth dropping by too.
Sanctuary of Asklepeios
As the most significant archaeological site on the island, Asklepeios is a must if you're a lover of history. The Asklipion offers mesmerising views as far as Turkey, while atop the hill you will find a religious sanctuary that once paid homage to Asklepeios, the God of healing. It's an extensive site, set over three levels, which include ruins of temples and baths that are well worth stopping by.

Things to Do

Picnic beneath the Plane Tree
The Hippocrates Plane Tree is supposedly the oldest tree in Europe. It's supposedly where Hippocrates once taught medicine to his students and it offers a perfect place to take a picnic to enjoy the day. Take the short walk toward Kos harbour and you'll find this ancient tree, propped up with scaffolding, located just in front of the imposing castle.
Try Hydrotherapy
If you fancy a well-deserved pampering session, head to Thermes for a chance to sample one of the local hydrotherapy treatments. It's a great way to let your stresses slip away, and regardless of where you holiday, a treatment or two certainly wouldn't go amiss!
Make a Splash at Lido Waterpark
The only waterpark on Kos would be a perfect base for an afternoon of splashing fun ' just what the kids need to break up the sunbathing and sightseeing. It'll keep them out of trouble for a while that's for sure! With a wide choice of pools, waves and slides, the waterpark has plenty to offer all its visitors and as it's located in Mastihari, you won't have far to go.
