Nestled between the snow-capped Taurus Mountains and the clear blue Mediterranean Sea, Turunc is a remote little town located away from the rest of the resorts in Turkey
. Holidays to Turunc promise some of the best weather in Europe, with bright sunshine greeting tourists for seven months of the year. From April to October, swim, snorkel, scuba dive and jet-ski in the warm waters of the Med, or simply set up camp on the clean Blue Flag beach.
Turunc is actually a teeny-tiny town ' you can literally walk from one side to the other in half an hour. However, don't let its small size fool you - there are plenty of things to keep you busy, whether it's dining out at the restaurants and cafes, shopping up a storm at the local bazaars, or taking a day trip to the neighbouring villages.
Although Turunc is fairly secluded, the party town of Marmaris is just 30 minutes away by car and sleepy Selimiye is 40 minutes through the mountains. The closest airport is in Dalaman , approximately 120 km around the coast.
Turunc package holidays from Direct Holidays are all about relaxation, however if you're looking for something with a little more action, head up to Marmaris. A growing tourist destination, Marmaris is known for its busy bars and high tech clubs playing everything from retro pop to hard-core electro. Take a turn at karaoke on the open beach clubs before making your way down Bar Street, overflowing with 100-plus bars and its infamous foam parties. Marmaris isn't just about the nightlife though ' there are also some stunning boat cruises, jeep safari tours and fantastic beaches to enjoy as well.
In between Turunc and Marmaris is Icmeler, a world away from the craziness of its notorious neighbour. Icmeler is surrounded by pine forests and offers lots of opportunities for hikers, walkers and nature-lovers. Wander through the lush green hills or relax on the beach in the shade of the local eucalyptus trees. There are also impressive diving sites, teeming with octopus, scorpion fish and brightly coloured coral.
