The holiday island of Menorca is often known as the sleepiest Balearic island because of its peaceful tranquility and unhurried way of life. To the East of Majorca, which sits between Menorca and Ibiza, it makes up the third of the Balearic islands. White washed villages nestle amongst the lush greenery and gentle countryside. Don't be fooled though as the island still has plenty to shout about. The rocky coastline is dotted with hidden coves and grottos, making ideal dive sites. There are over one hundred fantastic beaches in Menorca, with gently sloping golden sands and crystal clear water.

One of Menorca's most pictureque resorts is Cala Galdana, with turquoise waters and pine-clad hills in the background. Not far from Cala n Forcat is the quieter resort of Cala n Blanes, sheltered in a cove and framed by pine trees. Set in a beautiful marina, Cala n Bosch is becoming a very fashionable resort and has a fantastic beach. For a more lively resort, look no further than Cala n Porter, which has a diverse set of restaurants, bars and nightclubs. For a more meditteranean atmosphere, Cala Santandria offers a relaxing atmosphere against the white washed walls of the town. Close to the capital City of Mahon is the resort of Es Castell, set near Cala Font's harbour, it is incredibly quaint, pretty and relaxing. Punta Prima is home to one of the islands best beaches, and with plenty of shops and restaurants, makes it a great place to base your holiday. Sa Caleta is great for couples looking for relaxation and good food but if you want something more lively then the watersports in Son Bou might just be calling you.
