The information below states what you can expect from a standard Direct Holidays package. 

 

What Is Included In A Direct Holidays Package Holiday?

- Accommodation: Prices are shown within the price panel for each property. For hotels, the price applies to each of the two adults sharing a room. Apartment, villa and studio prices are based on the maximum number of adults sharing the accommodation and for fewer adults, under-occupancy supplements usually apply.
- In-Flight Meals (these are not usually included by most other companies!)
- Air passenger duty, UK airport taxes and security charges: All prices include current government APD.
- Services of a Direct Holidays Representative or 24-hour assistance from our UK Duty Office.
- Return Flights
- Aviation Fuel Costs: Known at time of booking (see Extra Charges - before booking)
- A minimum luggage allowance of 20kgs (10kg for infants).
- Return transport between your destination airport and accommodation in resort is included.
- Charges for extra security, aircraft insurance, aviation and other associated costs.
- ATOL Protection Contribution (APC): The price of your holiday includes the amount of currently £2.50 per person as part of the ATOL Protection Contribution (APC) we pay to the CAA who provides financial protection for your holiday in the unlikely event of our failure. 

 

What Are Extras?

- Holiday Insurance: You MUST be insured.
- Flight & meal supplements: Where applicable are in the accommodation description
- Bottled mineral water: In some all inclusive hotels bottled mineral water does not form part of the 'unlimited soft drinks service'.
- Under-occupancy supplements: For studios, apartments and villas where applicable as shown.
- Optional excursions
- Charges made by accommodation: Such as a la carte dishes, sunloungers and any other services not shown as being free. Infants may be charged for use of services and facilities in the accommodation.
- Locally collected taxes: Includes arrival/departure taxes and entry visas where applicable.
- Accommodation deposits: in some cases on arrival at self catering accommodation you may be asked for a deposit. This is refundable, less the cost of any damage or loss.
- Excess baggage on coaches and aircraft: Charges will apply if you exceed your allowance and/or you take sports equipment.
- In-flight meals: An in-flight meal is not included in the price of any short and medium haul flights (up to 7 hours) if you make a 'Late Holiday' booking (all destinations). The option to book and pay for an in-flight meal is available when you make a late booking.
- Late booking fee: A charge will apply for all bookings made within 14 days of departure.
- Credit card charges: Prices advertised when booking online. A charge will apply to payment by credit card.

How Do I Customise My Package Holiday?

You can add optional extras to your holiday as you make your booking on directholidays.co.uk.   These include Extra Legroom Flight Seats, Pre-bookable Flight Seats, Pre-flight Hotel Stays, Airport Lounges and Secure Airport Parking.

Find out what financial protection is available in the rare event of an airline or travel company going bust. 
From 1 November 2009, destinations will be categorised into four geographical bands based on distance from London. Each band will have two rates, one for standard class of travel and one for other classes of travel. The rates are subject to change and are published on the HM Revenue & Customs website - visit www.hmrc.gov.uk.
