Here in the Direct Holidays office we’ve noticed that the sun has started to make an occasional appearance – so that means summer is here right?! To mark this occasion we thought it was time to share our pick of the best tunes to get you in the mood for some sunshine and good times:

Robin Sherwood says:

Unoriginal I know but it has to be Daft Punk’s single ‘Get Lucky’. It’s a shamelessly funky slice of disco which has summer smash written all over it!

Michael Wendland says:

My choice will have to be ‘Summertime’ by DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince. This smooth summer classic dates back to 1991, when Will Smith was still ‘The Fresh Prince’. 20+ years on this track still deserves a place in every chilled BBQ playlist.

Vivek Bharti says:

Mine is Rudimental’s ‘Hell Could Freeze’ (Skream Remix) which is another recent ‘Nu-Disco’ track to add to the soundtrack to the summer. Let’s hope the weather catches up with the music!

Matt Evans says:

Mine would be “Demons” by the Imagine Dragons. This is the follow up to their big hit ‘Radioactive’ and is another big drum-led song that you’ll be singing along to. If you’re into bands then this is the song for summer 2013. Buy their album btw, they’re awesome!

Ana Cuellar says:

My choice is a Portuguese song from Brazil called ‘Nosa Nosa Asi Voce Me Mata’ by Michel Teló. I like it because it’s very lively and is a great tune for dancing if you’re a Latin music lover!

Neil Luff says:

Shed Seven’s ‘Chasing Rainbows’. It’s festival anthem – simple as that!
