The Easter break is an opportunity to getaway for a week or two and enjoy some time with the family on holiday. Escape the daily routine and enjoy the sun, sea and sand on an exotic island or explore the fun of a waterpark, the choice is yours.

I’ve searched high and low for our best resorts for the Easter break 2015 and have found these spectacular locations.

The small island of Malta wedged between the Italian and Tunisian coastline is a beautiful destination. For the 2015 Easter holidays there is nowhere better to get an early start on a summer tan.

Things to do –

The Maltese people are synonymous with outdoor living and when you visit you can expect many tranquil beaches and activities to keep all of the family entertained. As well as having waterparks, Malta is also home to another excellent family friendly attraction. The Playmobil Fun Park was built for kids to explore, have fun and interact with the characters. With scenes from the Wild West and even a pirate ship you won’t have a problem keeping them happy.

For a little more excitement why not take a catamaran excursion and swim in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. Or just soak up all of the uninterrupted sun on deck. In July why not see the annual International Firework Festival held in Valetta, it’s not all about lying on the beaches.

Situated in the eastern Mediterranean Sea the island of Cyprus is an excellent year round destination. However in April it is perfect. The warm weather in the Easter holidays is a huge benefit, along with the wide range of attractions, Cyprus has everything.

Things to do –

Cyprus has a lot more to offer than just the pristine beaches that wrap around the coast. The WaterWorld Waterpark is one of the most popular attractions in Ayia Napa. With a Greek theme and all of the usual slides as well as the lazy river there is much to see and do.

In Paphos there are a number of excellent attractions, the most peaceful is Aphrodite’s rock. Away from the town in a secluded location it’s definitely a ‘to do’ when visiting. Other attractions in Paphos include the Tombs of the Kings, Lara Bay Turtle Conservation Station and Kings Avenue Mall, which is filled with well-known high street brands

Whether you’re looking for a coastal getaway or an island escape Portugal has something for you and your family this Easter holiday.

Things to do –

If you visit mainland Portugal, expect a wealth of history and culture around every corner. Attractions such as the Milreu Ruins or the Cidade Velha in Faro’s old town are just a couple of the most mesmerising. As well as the history Portugal also boasts beautiful landscapes, abundant wildlife and vibrant waterfront locations along the Algarve coastline.

On the island of Madeira visitors can expect more of a laidback welcome. The prettiest island I have ever visited Madeira is full of colour, especially at the weekly market near the marina that is full of exotic fruits and beautiful floral displays. Why not visit the botanical gardens, you can get there by cable car and then descend in a traditional wicker toboggan through the winding streets of Funchal.
