Best Locations For Tapas In Barcelona

On my last visit to Barcelona I explored much of the city and experienced plenty of Tapas bars on my way. On my journey of discovery through the historic streets, I took in all the sights and sounds that this majestic city has to offer, and fell in love with each part of Barcelona for different reasons.

La Rambla

La Rambla is the most popular street in all of Barcelona with street performers, boutique shops, stalls, quaint bars and restaurants lining the road. If you want to sit back and watch the world go by then this is the place. You’ll be swept up in the laid back culture flowing from the locals and see how visitors are mesmerized by the atmosphere and surroundings.

Old Town

The narrow streets are filled with the sounds of people haggling, and are packed with beautifully decorated buildings. The Old Town is commonly missed by many tourists as they visit the more modern parts of the city, but they are really missing out. Here you will find more reasonably priced bars and restaurants with a homely feel. Be sure to explore every street as you never know what hidden gem you’ll find around the next corner.

Olympic Port

Modern, sleek and fashionable, the 1992 Olympic Port is the place to be during the evening. Surrounded by extravagant yachts, the once Olympic Village is now a popular place for young couples to enjoy a laid back tapas meal with a jug of fresh, homemade Sangria. Next to Barceloneta beach, you’ll have the perfect view over the Mediterranean Sea as the sun disappears beneath the horizon.

Sabadell

Sabadell is a small town/suburb of Barcelona which still retains much of its Spanish heritage thanks to very little tourism. In fact, not many people speak English and most restaurants don’t have English menus, so make sure you brush up on your Spanish before you leave home. Once you’ve got over the language barrier, you’ll love the authentic Catalonian tapas; Sabadell is the perfect place to go with friends if you’re staying in Barcelona.
