Prepare for heart-racing, adrenaline-pumping action when you arrive in Orlando; roller coaster capital of the world. From turbo charged thrill-rides to crazy loops and corkscrews, these rides will have you on the edge of your seat.
We take a look at some of Orlando’s best…
Hollywood Rip Ride and Rockit: Universal Studios
There’s no better place to start than with Hollywood Rip Ride and Rockit, Orlando’s tallest rollercoaster.
Powering along at 65mph and towering 17 storeys above ground, it’s not for the faint-hearted. With its numerous loops, you can zoom along accompanied by your own personal soundtrack chosen when you climb into your pod.
Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster: Walt Disneyworld Hollywood Studios
Endorsed by rock band Aerosmith, fans can enjoy speeding along at 60mph to the soundtrack of the band. Boasting two rollover loops and one corkscrew, you’ll race past famous Hollywood landmarks in a limousine-like car.
The Incredible Hulk: Universal Islands of Adventure
A wild and precarious ride, the Incredible Hulk launches you 150ft in the air. The high-speed roller coaster travels at speeds of 40mph, has seven inversions and allows thrill-seekers to experience a weightless “zero g” feel. Terrifying sounds will accompany you on your journey as you brave the loops and corkscrews of this fantastic ride.
Kraken: Sea World Orlando
Named after the ferocious sea serpent of the same name, this floorless ride is frequently rated as being among the best roller coasters in the world. Featuring seven loops in open air seating, the ride also includes a cobra roll, zero-G roll and corkscrew. Will you be brave enough to take on the fiercest monster of the sea?
Revenge of the Mummy: Universal Studios
Screeching around the tracks in virtual darkness; only take on this roller coaster if you dare. Based on the Mummy movie franchise, you’ll reach speeds of up to 45mph as you whizz past ancient hieroglyphics, through eerie tombs, and past mummified bodies.
A number of tricks and shocks await those who dare, with high speed launches and scream-inducing drops – made all the more intense due to the dark setting.
Everest: Walt Disney World Animal Kingdom
The reassuringly scenic setting of this roller coaster is just an illusion…prepare for some intense thrills on this dramatic ‘mountain’ ride. The shock comes when the carts unexpectedly stop before shooting backwards, taking on a double loop and plummeting 80 foot down the mountain.
Dragon Challenge: Wizarding World of Harry Potter
Choose between two terrifying dragons on this high speed electrifying ride. Different to other rides, these two roller coasters loop, twist and intertwine as they zip around, and nearly collide at one point.
Clamber aboard either the Chinese Fireball or the Hungarian Horntail and be prepared to feel the fear.
